Hilary Reaney

Having retired from working in administration I became a volunteer driver for Darlington Town  Mission and quickly saw what a positive difference the charity makes to the wellbeing of our wonderful friends.

Last year I had the opportunity to apply for the part time position of Assistant Missioner and was delighted to be successful. I work alongside our Missioner Sue Allison, supporting her with organising our outings, lunches, Care Home services and one to one  visits.

I love the work that we do and feel very blessed and privileged to help to provide the fellowship, support and companionship that means so much to our friends. I always go home from work with a smile on my face and would encourage anyone to become a volunteer for Darlington Town Mission to reap the same benefits.

I am a member of St Augustine’s RC Church and also volunteer for the Foodbank at St Columbia’s and HCPT Darlington family group which takes local children with special needs to Lourdes.
