Trustee & Treasurer
I joined Darlington Town Mission in May 2025 as a volunteer visitor and driver.
I am a retired Chartered Accountant and was very happy to accept the post of Treasurer on the
“retirement” of Derek Mills who has been Treasurer for the past 24 years or so.

My parents lived in Canada and because I lived so far away, I found that I wasn’t able to spend as
much time with them as I would have liked in their final years. In my retirement I decided that I
wanted to work with the elderly, to be there for someone else’s parent(s). Darlington Town Missionfits the bill perfectly!

I live in Hurworth Place with my husband and dog. In my spare time, whilst not walking our dog, I
have taken up church bell-ringing which I find both physically and mentally challenging, as well as great fun!
